Kyrie Irving - How it all began...

Kyrie knew at a very young age that he wanted to play in the NBA. He would regularly travel with his dad and watch him play in his league games. When Kyrie Irving was just in the 4th grade he started telling people that he would someday play in the NBA. Those dreams started to become more real to himself and others by the time he was a freshman in high school.
Kyrie played for Montclair Kimberly Academy his first two years of high school and he averaged 26 points, 10 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals per game. He led the team to it's first prep B state title as well. Looking for more of a challenge, Kyrie decided to transfer to St. Patrick high school and play alongside Michael Kidd Gilchrist who was considered the top talent in the country at the time. Kyrie picked up where he left off and earned himself another state title his junior year. He averaged 17 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists per game.
Upon leaving for college in 2010, Kyrie Irving was considered the top point guard in the country and he decided that he would take his talents to North Carolina and play for Duke under Mike Krzyzewski. He started out strong by once again averaging more than 17 points per game. However, Kyrie was forced to sit out most of the season after injuring a ligament in his big toe. He returned in time to play in the NCAA tournament but Duke was eventually defeated by Arizona in the Sweet 16.
In 2011 Kyrie Irving entered the NBA draft. It turned out to be a wise decision because he was selected as the #1 overall pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kyrie has been an important piece to helping the Cavs rebuild another winning team. In his short NBA career, Kyrie has amazed the crowds with his impressive ball handling and quick crossovers. His game is solid and consistent, any team would be lucky to have him on their roster.
